1999: Hot cross buns and chocolate Easter eggs for breakfast. I love Easter (and so does mum by the looks of it!). We went swimming this morning and had a lovely ‘dim’ for an hour. I got out of the pool okay, but mum had to fight to get me out of the lovely warm shower. We set off for a walk to the local shop this afternoon and arrived back home an hour and a half later! On the way, we had decided to explore the alley way opposite our house thinking we could cut through to the shops, but it turned out that it led to the other end of our road (a dead end) and we had to walk all the way back again and start over. Nice one mum. I did find a great stick though and took it all the way to the shops and back – even though it was nearly as big as me. Amongst my antics I hit someone’s car with the stick, pulled someone’s parking chain off the hook on their drive, tried to climb the street lamps, stopped and waved at all the cars and touched all the traffic cones as we went past the roadwork’s. Once home I went out in the garden and discovered that I could use mums clothes horse to climb up my slide. Mum keeps going very pale today. Think I’ll have to keep an eye on her – she might be sickening for something
2019: Got into Zofs parents late last night from Stansted. No antics today just lazing around and trying to acclimatise. Looking forward to heading back to our flat tonight but not so much work tomorrow

1999: – Good Friday, but mum didn’t seem to think so at 6.45! I don’t know why, she got 15 minutes longer than usual and we had hit cross buns for breakfast. There’s no pleasing some people! We walked over to the town to get some shopping and I walked all the way back. I made friends with a dog, who in return wrapped his lead around me and pulled me over. It was a lovely day and I played in the garden and then Uncle Teddy took me to the park where I found not just the wettest, but the muddiest spot and Uncle Teddy had to rescue me. I was very tired when I got back home and sat drinking my tea unable to move for about 10 minutes. Mum thought it was great, but I wasn’t so sure.
2019: A week or so until Easter this year. Last day in Budapest and sunshine as tonight we flew back to reality and the cold. Bit of a rough landing but it was Ryan Air – last time we flew with them was to Ireland many years ago. They threw it on the runway that time, just 10 minutes after serving mum a second hot chocolate. She wasn’t too happy with her chocolate patterned, white t shirt then but it makes us laugh now.

1999: Accidentally headbutted mum when I woke up this morning – she wasn’t impressed. She turned her back on me for about 5 minutes – sulking. Then I put my arm around her and I was forgiven. Shorts and t-shirt today for the first time this year and my sandals too. Edon took us to the park and Dan bought me some buttons, which I promptly dropped all over the floor! When mum picked me up I spied the Easer Eggs Edon gave her and polished one off on the way home. It’s great having a chocoholic mum – she has empathy! When we got home we made hot cross buns – a bit messy but great fun. I went in my swing and fell asleep there whilst drinking my cuppa. Mum kept trying to get me out but, each time she did, I went into one and just asked for another swing. Why can’t she just leave me here anyway? I wasn’t sleeping – I was just resting my eyes.
2019: Amazing river cruise and meal last night and today was spent on the bus touring the city – mostly because we had already paid for the tickets and are down to our last bits of shrapnel. On getting back to the hotel this evening, we discovered that there is a spa, swimming pool and solarium on the roof of our hotel – all included in the price. Think we’ll spend the night here. Hopefully its not an April Fools and we wont get a big bill tomorrow

1999: I awoke in Aunty Eesa’s bed with mum next to me and the rest of the house was up by 6.15 – but they didn’t seem too impressed. Anyway I was saved later when Uncle Tony, who was away fishing, rang to say the clocks had gone forward an hour, so there! We played a bit this morning and aunty Eesa took us home at 10.30 or is it 11.30? We went to bed when we got in as mum is feeling poorly. Something to do with Martel, whoever that is! We snuggled up until 3.00! Mum looked slightly less green when we got up, but I’ve seen her looking better. I wanted to carry on sleeping really, but eventually gave in to mum’s persistence and went out to play in the garden. When we went to have a bath the water was really cold and mum had to boil up kettles of water to make it warm.
2019: Hmm. No issues with Martel on Mums first sleep over but I’m a little green from Jack as I was eventually swigging out of the bottle to try and numb my ankle pain. Swelling has gone down though and I have a bit more movement so will just continue to hobble until it heals. Don’t really want to be travelling to Budapest with plaster on anyhow. Although assisted flying is quite good – I had this flying back from Ireland once with a broken toe. The first of many toe breaks. My big toes are now so numb I’m continually stubbing them as cannot feel them!

1999: Well spring is here, and mum can no longer say “go back to sleep it’s the middle of the night”. No more fooling me mother. The sun is shining and it’s as bright as day out there. “UP”. We listened to music, watched T.V. and played. We jumped over cushions and then hid under them (my favorite game). I walked all the way to town and back (accompanied by mum). Then I had to sit and wait, and wait, and wait whilst mum had her hair cut. I wasn’t too happy. As we left the hairdressers mum apologised and said something about childcare arrangements next time. Sorry, but I’m the one who was bored and neglected. Aunty Eesa, Dandell and Dessica came over this afternoon and we went to the farm to see and feed the animals. When I was on my pony ride someone stole my animal food and I was not best impressed. I decided to take a short cut to the play area across the grass but half way there, I just stopped dead and didn’t move. Mum came running over to me and discovered I stepped into the bog and was up to my knees in water. Aunty Eesa found this highly amusing and said I looked like a bog monster. Oh ho, ho, very funny. We had ice cream and played on the slide and climbing frame. And then I decided to walk into the swings. Ouch! After tea and baths we all piled into Eesa’s camper van and headed for hers where we stayed the night.
2019: Text mum to see if could come over for tea tonight instead of tomorrow and she agreed. Bought steak for tea from the butchers under us and cooked Mum an early Mothers Day dinner. At work today I walked into a scaffold pole with the ankle and after dinner Zof took me to A&E (mum says she had done her stint of this) but we were back in an hour due to estimated waiting times 7 – 8 hours in all.

1999: Still spotty but they’re not as red. Didn’t like the light much in my bedroom, it was “bright” and I covered my eyes. We played hide and seek, but mum hasn’t quite got the hang of it. She keeps finding me and saying boo, but I stay hidden until I feel like it, and then I say ’boo’. She’ll get the hang of it eventually. Went to children’s world to get some new trainers as mine are scuffed. I’m still a size 7G but ended up with 8G trainer?! The lady said this was the best fit, but mum didn’t seem so sure. I went for the professionals view, but mum keeps calling me flipper. Went to the doctors to show him my spots. He says I either have Scarlet Fever, Allergic reaction or a Virus. Not much choice then!
2019: Another hard days work and a hard cheek blow when I was stacking bricks and one decided to stack it into my right cheek bone. I have a gash, its red and eating dinner tonight at spoons with Mum, Mark and Kiegan for his 21st, I felt as if I had bitten off something crunchy and sharp. Maybe a tooth? Maybe part of my cheek bone? But as mum says, I may well have matching sides now. I broke my left cheek bone just over a year ago whilst club performing in a cage. I spun over the top bar, which collapsed taking me many meters to the floor. Not my best move ….

1999: I waved mum off from the settee at Edons (I forgot yesterday -oops!). I was a good boy today, but still in my showing off mood a bit when mum came to collect me this evening. I soon calmed down, and put my shoes on nicely when mum said about going out to play in the garden again when we got home. We even put my slide together. I can walk up it both ways with no help at all. I thought the rabbit run was a great climbing frame too, but mum didn’t seem too impressed when I headed towards it! I then decided to put my bike over the slide. Mum decided to take a photo, but I wasn’t very amused because the bike was stuck and I got extremely frustrated trying to get it down, and mum had photographic evidence. Or does she? Mum – you’re supposed to put film in the camera first!!! Anyway, I sorted it in the end, without help, which I most definitely do not need thank you very much. Things went fairly well tonight, until it came to cleaning my teeth – we both wanted to do it. Well they are my teeth after all, and if I want to just suck the toothpaste off the brush then I don’t see the problem. Mummy won in the end. I told mum my own bedtime stories tonight – how I was sick today when I coughed in Edons car. ‘I had to shout Edon’ for her to stop’. It’s the first mum’s heard of this, but she seems amused. Then I told her how I’d bumped my head and chin on the ceiling, the wardrobe and the wall!
2019: Is it really here? I met mum in the Kings Head at Beccles – she stopped drinking 6 weeks ago but had a glass of wine in her hand. Luckily she was still able to read the tenancy and sign the guarantor side of things, with strict instructions that our rent is our priority as she does not want to lose her house. We unloaded, drove back to mums, reloaded and again unloaded after shopping in B&M for food and pillows etc. Mum is wondering when it really does start to get cheaper ……. Exhausting but wonderful day and tonight Zof and I stayed in our new home. No bedtime stories needed zzzzz

1999: Padded into mums room and stroked her hair – well it is Mothers day and I know how to make her happy. Nanny and Pa came round with a new kettle and I gave mum a card and a bear ornament, which I chose when I was out with Nanny. I saw the other children playing out in the street on their bikes and after much pointing, and longing looks, mum let me have my first ride on my bike in the street. It was great – and I only fell off once – no bumps though. I’ve got one on my head from earlier though when Pa took me to the toilet – I bent down to wipe my willie and banged my head on the pan! Grandma came to collect me this morning and off I went to Daddy’s, bike an’ all. Dad is moving to Kent on Thursday, so I don’t know when I’ll get to see him again. I had a lovely day but it was very tiring. One minute I was playing in the corner of the settee and the next thing I knew I was back at home with Uncle Teddy (we now have a T) cuddling me and trying to wake me up. I ended up going to bed early tonight – Something to do with ‘overstepping the mark’. Thing is I didn’t step, and I didn’t see any mark – I did hit mummy on the knee and refused to say sorry. She did threaten me with bed, but I didn’t think she’d actually do it, but she did, and now I’m in bed – and all because Uncle Teddy woke me up when I was still tired.
2019: No bike riding today but a drive over to Beccles to read tenancy agreement and the first signature is on. Now its getting real. I think we are both excited and scared all at the same time. We will soon have another place to call home as I have continued adding many more home from homes over the years.

1999: On the way to Edons we had to stop at the post office to collect a package for mum – her bouquet of flowers for Mothers day – I’m just so thoughtful, and it’s amazing what a young chap can arrange these days. Tonight mum asked if I wanted anything to eat, I said no but she made us noodles anyway. Why does she bother to ask? I had three mouthfuls just to keep her happy. Whilst mum was busy eating, I went into the kitchen and decided to play with the fridge. It seemed like a good idea to begin with, but then I poked myself under the eye with the shelf rim. I wouldn’t let mum put anything cold on it, even after she’d put a cold cloth on herself (why she should think that would help my eye I don’t know). We went upstairs, before my milk, to change my bum and put my pyjamas on, but I wasn’t too keen, and let mum know with a swift head butt to the chest. This seemed to change her mind again and I ended up in bed! I did get my milk, a teddy, a cuddle and a ‘moonbeams’ story – well sort of, I’ve started diversifying and I tell mum stories too. My moonbeams is a wind up toy that shines pictures on the ceiling, one of these being a plane. Mum has made up a story to go with it but sometimes I just shoot the plane out of the sky. Mum says I’m such a caring, placid child but I don’t quite know where she gets that from.
2019: Arrived at Aviva for 9am and smashed the ball out of the park. I’ve got the job but don’t start until 21st April so that might delay things with the flat a bit as only one wage coming in for the next two months. I’ll keep trying with the agencies for now. Home tonight and heavily into Afflicted on Netflix. Told mum I think her Fibromyalgia is actually Lymes disease – spookily this was she has also been thinking

1999: Mum tried to fob me off this morning by putting me in her bed, with my milk, to drink alone but I had other ideas. I looked at her really really sweetly, patted the bed beside me and said “ Mum”. It worked like a charm and she obliged (for a whole 5 minutes). Went to Edons and when mum picked me up tonight she bought me a packet of crisps and I was on my best behaviour getting into the car extremely nicely, with no fuss. We called in to see Nanny and Pa, I think it was because I kept saying “Nan, Nan, Nan” for the first 3 minutes of the journey. We ended up staying for tea and Uncle Eddy called in as well. I’m doing well for attention this week. Nan has bought me a new stool, which I was chuffed with, until Pa and Mummy tried to confuse me. I mean I knew it was a stool, it was perfectly obvious to me, but they thought it was a table. What planet are they on? You know us kids would learn a lot faster if we weren’t hindered by adults.
2019: Haven’t managed to get back to rugby but went to watch U11 rugby today at Wymondham and then drove to Acle to meet mum who brought my paperwork half way. Mum to the rescue again! She cant complain too much as I take after her!
