July 30th – Sweet Tooth Dental Pain

1999:  Edons this morning and Aunty Karen picked me up after lunch to take me to Mummy’s work BBQ.  There were loads of people there, so I had to do my shy bit for 10 minutes and then I gave up and was my usual self.  Well maybe not; I was on my best behaviour!  We had burgers, jelly, ribs and coke (in that order!)  I won the sweetie jar as Aunty Karen had guessed how many were in there for me and she was only 2 out!  Mummy felt guilty as she had organised the sweetie jar and even though it was all above board she tipped them all in a bowl and I gave one to everyone there!  We had a lovely time and on the way home we had to stop at a bus stop for a wee and once relieved fell asleep in the car.

2019: I’ve always had a sweet tooth but luckily not a lot of trouble with my teeth but today it not a good one. I only have one filling probably due to the amount of dairy I eat, although I did have to have braces when I was 8 for a while. I’ve been awake most of the night with toothache which no amount of codeine would settle. Got an emergency dental appointment at a practice in Oulton as I’m not registered anywhere (hate the dentist – not personally) Went to mums and she directed me to the surgery but sent me to Lowestoft instead of Oulton so we had to reschedule for 2.45 – which seems like a week with toothache. Eventually I was numbed and filled and went home to mums for a sleep.

I may do stupid things and make light of them but deep down there’s a reason and I love exploration, even if I cannot fully understand the outcome!
