1999: We had to wait for the washing machine man again this morning before leaving for Edons. When we got there I presented mummy with my first handmade card that I had made at toddlers yesterday. I think she liked it, but I’m not that sure because her eyes looked a bit wet. When mummy picked me up she had the card in her car and said that she had also had it on her desk with her at work today. Edon reported that I have been a tyrant today (whatever that means!) and that at toddlers I hadn’t let anyone else play with the toys. Well, why should I? They’re all “mine” and it’s not my fault if the other children have a problem accepting this fact. Things didn’t get any better with mummy She thought it would be a nice relaxing change tonight to take a walk to the pub and have some chips and a “dink”. She eventually gave up on the walking, putting me in the buggy and stating that it was a change but the relaxation thing just wasn’t working out. In the pub garden, I made a discovery and I wanted to share my tip with other children. If you sit on the toy train ride and shout “mum” at the top of your voice at least 50 times, your mum may ignore you but the nice young lads give you 20p to put into the slot just to get some peace. The way I see it everyone’s a winner – they get a quiet peaceful drink, I get a ride and it hasn’t cost mum a penny!
2019: Haha. Can just imagine me continually shouting out. My stubbornness hasn’t abated. But to be fair, I wold also be one of the lads giving the child money for a ride! No pub tonight but another little truck I’ve learnt – dinner was ready and waiting for her royalty when she got home – Blue Cheese Brioche Burgers, complete with flowers and rose wine. Hmm. Not sure how the cheese is going to get on in my bowel. Think it might be in for a tough fight! They tasted good though
