June 9th – Magic Play

1999:  Another restless asthma night. I ended up sleeping in mum’s bed and we slept until 7.30.  Nanny collected me from Edons at eleven and we went shopping with Bomper.  Nanny had to buy me some tissues as I kept wiping my nose on my top.  Today, for the first time ever, I sat on Nanny’s lap, looked at her and asked her for a kiss.  Mummy came home at 5.30 and at 6.15 we said “I wish Pa was here” and suddenly he appeared.  Wow mum – you’re magic – or is it a timing thing?  I had my bath and then we left but mum had to reverse back up the road because I wanted to do a wee.  I love this game – it means I get to say goodbye all over again!  I was in bed by eight and asked for my crayons.  Funnily though, for some reason mum wouldn’t let me have them.  I just don’t know why.  I think I’ve made a lovely job of the walls.  It’s better than mums painting anyway.  Another restless night with a few breathing problems early on.  Spent the night in my own bed though, propped up with two pillows.

2019:  Stansted last night to collect the weary travellers after a rather wet week in Portugal. Half way, I chucked mum in the back with Mark so I could have a decent conversation with my bro. Today we went to a 1 year olds birthday party and I loved it. Lots of kids, football, trampolining and boys pretend fighting play. No crayons though …

I may do stupid things and make light of them but deep down there’s a reason and I love exploration, even if I cannot fully understand the outcome!
