1999: I’m a bit wheezy this morning. What, no inhaler? Oh no, I’ve left it daddy’s. Daddy brought it down to me at Edons. I’ve had a streamy day with eyes and nose. Mum collected me at five and we went home to play in the garden. Edon had given me Calpol before I left and I was very heavy eyed. I ate my tea – pasta – NICE. I wouldn’t have my inhalers (even after the heroic dash by dad) but I know how crafty mum is – she’ll probably sneak them to me whilst I’m asleep.
2019: My asthma days. Fortunately I grew out of it at about 14, but due to still having annual checks and emergency inhalers it halted my army career as had to be 4 years clear of any checks or prescriptions. By the time this happened I’d been diagnosed with Crohn’s and that was the end of that dream.
