June 3rd – My Ditzy Mum

1999: This morning I did mums zip up for her on the back of her dress as she couldn’t reach!  What would she do without me?  Next mum tried to dress me but I wasn’t so happy with this and decided to throw a metal car at her head.  I think it must have hurt because next I knew I had a smacked hand (Mum never smacks me!) and was lying on my bed – alone.  Don’t think I’d best do that again.  I went to Asda with Edon – and ran off.  She ran after me and I fell banging my nose and getting a nose bleed.  Nanny and Pa picked me up tonight in Pa’s van and we went to the park.  When we got back to Nan’s mum was there waiting for me.  I got very excited – until I got out of the van and decided to play it cool walking straight past mum!

2019:  Helping mum get dressed became more often over the years due to a back injury, arthritis and fibromyalgia. She facetimed me today from the beach in Portugal but I missed the call and returned it shortly afterwards. She answered and after me telling her 3 times I couldn’t see her, she realised I was facetiming her back and not ringing her. Dozy moo had the phone up to her ear. Still, its not so bad as the time she panicked and told me she had to go as she couldn’t find her phone. I quickly calmed her down by telling her she was talking to me on it. Her ditziness gets worse with fibro fog but, as she says, she likes to amuse.

I may do stupid things and make light of them but deep down there’s a reason and I love exploration, even if I cannot fully understand the outcome!
